Statement to Galway Chamber Members
Following on from our CEO Kenny Deery’s announcement that he is not seeking to renew his contract in July, and that he intends to stand for election, I am writing to inform you that we are enacting a full plan to manage this transition.
As a Chamber Council, we understand the importance of continuity and ensuring that the interests of our members and the broader business community remain our top priority. Rest assured, we are actively working to identify and appoint a suitable replacement for the CEO position. In the meantime, it is business as usual for the Galway Chamber. Kenny will remain a support to the executive team and the council but will be stepping back from public duties from the end of this week as we seek to recruit an Interim CEO and in turn a permanent leadership figure. Our commitment to supporting and advocating for our members remains steadfast, and we will continue to provide the same level of service and engagement that you have come to expect from us.
We understand that transitions can bring uncertain, however, the Chamber Council is dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition process and maintaining the momentum that Kenny has helped us build. Your ongoing support and engagement are crucial during this period of transition.

Under his guidance, our Chamber has achieved significant milestones and made invaluable contributions to the Galway business community. Kenny's passion and commitment have been instrumental in driving our Chamber's success, and we are immensely grateful for his service.
Kenny’s leadership qualities and deep understanding of business and community dynamics will undoubtedly serve him well in the next chapter of his journey, and we wish him the very best as he embarks on his future career.
