Galway Chamber Set to Take Over the Reins of Galway City Business Association

Galway City Business Association are in the process of winding-down and ceasing activities, and their membership will be passed over to Galway Chamber. This decision was approved at their final AGM which took place on Tuesday (10th November) of last week.
Since the business organisation’s inception, the Galway City Business Association has had many successes over the years. These include the Shopping and Dining Guide, Dine in Galway campaign, Light Up Galway initiative and the Galway Free Wi-Fi scheme, to name but a few. These successes have been as a direct result of the outstanding work and dedication of the Board and members of Galway City Business Association.
Speaking this week, Chair of the Board of Galway City Business Association, Cormac McGuckian stated, “Galway City Business Association has partnered with Galway Chamber many times down through the years, working together in the interests of businesses in Galway. As we hand over the reins of the GCBA to the trusted hands of Galway Chamber, we very much look forward to working with them in the future to continue with our mission.”
The mission of the Galway City Business Association has been to increase footfall in Galway by promoting the City as a relaxing, safe, friendly and vibrant place to visit and do business, to improve access, and to ensure a wide variety of choice.
President of Galway Chamber, J.P. Gilmartin commented, “Galway Chamber is looking forward to working with our new members from Galway City Business Association to strengthen our representation in the City Centre. The committed team in Galway Chamber will, as part of delivering on our five Strategic Pillars, work diligently to build on the notable and impactful success of the GCBA over many years.”
