About Us
Music for Galway is an independent and resilient charitable organisation underpinned by philanthropy, active since 1981.
MfG's Mission is:
To present world class performers of classical music to inspire the people and communities of Galway and beyond and to enable more engagement with classical music
To support creativity through development and performance opportunities for artists, commissioning new works and collaborating across art forms
To lay a foundation for the future through programmes that give young people the opportunity to connect with classical music
In 2022 MfG was successful in the bid for Songs of Travel, a three-year Creative Europe Cooperation project in which the organisation leads a consortium of five countries: Ireland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands and Austria.
In May of 2024 it will present the second edition (the first in-person edition) of CELLISSIMO - an international cello festival on the edge of Europe.
